The Wilderness Chapel

Service Projects - Screen Porch

Project Requirements: Thanks Cary, Robert, Gary, Gary, Jack and crew. We now have our dried in room. Completed Saturday, May 16, 2009.

We decided to enclose this area of the chapel and in the future build on a screen porch.

The demensions of the screen porch are: 56' wide by 16' deep, by 10'5" tall. Each post is 8' apart. We will need a set of double screen doors in the middle of the front of the porch and one screen door at each end.

We want the lowest horizontal support at about 2' high, and the second at about 8' high

Top section: 29" tall (2'5")
Middle section: 70" tall (6')
Lowest section: 24" tall (2')

The vertical supports are 6" x 6" pressure-treated posts.

Porch area of the Chapel

We have alreay purchased the screen and have some building materials on hand.

Project Constraints: Time is of the essence in building the screen porch. We feel that (at a minimum) once the screen porch is completed we will be able to use it as a basic enclosure.

Execution Plan:

Caulk the 6" x 6 " PT beams
Paint (actually stain) the 6" x 6 " PT beams

Materials Needed:

47 2" x 4" x 8' PT
