Here's
the story of a lovely lady
Barbara
Evelyn Houser
I was born in Anchorage, Alaska on March 24, 1965. As I remember, most
of my childhood was spent in Anchorage. I do remember some years spent
in "the lower 48": Arkansas, Oklahoma,

My drama teacher in High School, Ms. Jacqui Lynn started calling me this,
and I was too shy to tell her that I didn't like that version of Barbara.

After high school I went to Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. I
did not want to be either: one of those students who go two or three years
and then drop-out, or one of those perpetual students who go five, six
or seven years and still have not graduated so I was determined to make
my decision after the first year as to whether or not I wanted to continue
my formal education. Well, I really didn't make that decision - I simply
failed to register for classes the next Fall. So, since the school doesn't
consider you a student if you don't register for classes, I was no longer
a student. Through my lack of making a decision the decision was made
for me - I was a drop-out.

I met Ray in January of 2001. We were engaged by February of that year,
married by May and he was deployed to Uzbekistan by October.
